Steampunk Pipe Organ:

This project required a lot of planning beforehand to make it be a functional machine. All gears, wheels, and arms are the correct dimensions to properly animate. That meant calculating the number of teeth, spacing, and ratio’s.

There are 16 texture sets grouped by scale and optimal texile density. The goal was to get the ideal level of fidelity for a first person experience.

The windows are fully modeled but the color is a projected texture generated using Midjourney. Its a good example of working usage that gets the point across with decent quality and minimal time invested. From here someone could take the aspects they like and tailor it to fit a narrative or aesthetic.

I used a wide variety of references for this project. They all served as stepping stones that led me down the creative path to the final product. Most components were designed on the fly in a domino effect of sorts.

There is almost too much to show in this scene through images alone. Everything the camera can get close to has a higher level of detail to highten the believability.

I decided to show different lighting set ups mainly to show off the modeled filaments inside every lightbulb. I made them so might as well show them off!

The different lighting setups also give very different moods to this scene. That was intentional and something I plan to explore more in the future.
