Ottoman Cannon:

This project focused on baking details onto a low poly mesh. I chose to use an ottoman cannon as my main reference. I enjoyed the level of detail and ornate craftsmanship juxtaposed on such a blunt instrument of war.

I really liked how the textures turned out with this piece. There is lots of thought in where and how things would weather. Most of the weathering was started using curvature and fine tuned via handpainting.

I started creating a proxy mesh to then build a higher detail version within the confines of the established silhouette. That helped refine the shape and proportions. I then reduced the polycount of the high resolution model and baked the details onto the resulting low poly mesh.
